Anitra J. Hall – The Legacy Group, Founder – Executive Director
Anitra J. Hall, is a native of Livingston, Alabama, and is the Founder and Executive Director of The Legacy Group. She was educated in the Sumter County School System and is also a graduate of the University of West Alabama (formerly known as Livingston University). She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems, along with a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification and is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt (CSSGB). She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Anitra has over 18+ years of experience in working in the field of Information Technology. Her career began as early as 1997, while working as a programmer trainee for Regions Bank in Montgomery, Alabama. In 1999, Anitra endeavored to pursue a career in IT consulting, and since then has had the opportunity to work on numerous of IT related projects affiliated with financial institutions as well as government and healthcare agencies. She has managed project initiatives with budgets greater than $5M.
Anitra inspires others to help and support each other. Her passion is to aid in the process of creating scholarships and/or educational programs for the underserved populations.
Bessie Jenkins-Hamilton –The Legacy Group, Volunteer
Bessie Mae Jenkins-Hamilton was born the 7th of 8 children to Reverend and Mrs. P.S. Jenkins, Jr. in Gainesville, Alabama. She is married to the Reverend Elvyn L. Hamilton and has two beautiful daughters Makaria and Manda. Bessie holds a Bachelor Degree from Stillman College, Tuscaloosa Alabama, and a Masters' Degree in Elementary Education from the University of West Alabama, Livingston, Alabama.
She has worked as an elementary school teacher, a motivational speaker, a college recruiter, a development director, a business owner, a fundraiser, and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Sorority, Incorporated. Bessie publicly answered her call to ministry in 2008. This call led her to Vanderbilt University Divinity Schol where she earned a Masters Degree in Theological Studies. Pastor Bessie has served as senior pastor, an assistant pastor and a college campus pastor in Alabama and Kentucky. In 2009, Pastor Bessie's sermon entitled "Unconditional Love" was published in the Africian American Pulpit Journal. After serving in Kentucky for almost 20 years, she and her husband moved to Montgomery, Alabama in 2013 to start a new church, "The Source: A New Community of Faith" where she serves as Co-Pastor. She is currently working on a Doctorate of Education in Interdisciplinary Leadership at Creighton University.
In 2012, Pastor Bessie was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2013, she was declared cancer free. She believes that her kingdom assignment is to let people know that God is still in the blessing business. She firmly declares, "Jesus will claim you as His family because you deserve to be a part of one." Her favorite quote is, "Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn".
Dr. Wendolyn Pruitt-Bouie – The Legacy Group, Volunteer
Dr. Wendolyn Bouie is an award-winning educator with nearly four decades experience as a teacher, administrator, and consultant. She is a native of Sumter County, and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia where she is an Education Consultant, and teaches in the Doctoral Program at Mercer University.
Dr. Bouie is happily married to Edward Bouie and has one son, Brian Pruitt. With serving more than 30 years in the education field as a teacher, principal, district level administrator, college professor, and author, Dr. Bouie developed a consulting business where she assists other administrators as they develop effective school plans for student learning.
Vivian D. Ross – The Legacy Group, Volunteer
Vivian D. Ross is a native of Sumter County. Her journey in the medical field began as early as 1988, as she obtained her CNA Certificate to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Shortly after, she continued to pursue her Associates in Applied Science – Nursing (ADN) from the College of Lake County in state of Illinois, and now holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSN) in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. In addition, she holds several certifications in lieu of her medical background, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Vivian and her husband, Wilson Ross moved from Chicago, Illinois to Snellville, Georgia in 2011, and founded the New Life Transformation Ministries in 2012. They have one beautiful daughter, Tiffany, and one handsome grandson, Gabriel. She has served over 25+ years in healthcare industry and continues to make progress in fulfilling her destiny as being God's chosen, "Care-giver", serving others in their time of need.
