Legacy Scholarship Fund
The Legacy Group takes pleasure in honoring our students who excel academically and are making a significant impact in the community. We understand that higher education is critically important, and we want to play a major role in helping our children succeed in life.
Our Legacy Scholarship Fund provides an opportunity for our underserved families to have access to a quality education. We provide our families with the financial resources they need to assist them in their pursuit of a post-secondary education. Our scholarships are specifically awarded to students in low-moderate communities who excel academically, with exceptional community volunteer service experiences.
Scholarship Requirements:
- *Must be a high school senior
- Must be a resident of Sumter County
- G.P.A of 3.0 or higher
- Must be accepted to any accredited four year institution or community college (within the State of Alabama)
- Students must submit a 350-500 word essay describing their volunteer work experiences and how it impacted them and their community
*Scholarships will be awarded to one male and one female high school senior
Essay Requirements:
The essay must include the following points:
- A descriptive of the volunteer work performed
- Why the volunteer work was important?
- How did the volunteer work benefit the people around you?
Scholarship Deadline:
The Legacy Group scholarship deadline for the 2019-2020 school year is June 14, 2019.
Award Notification:
Scholarships will be awarded during the month of July 2019.
